Carol Ann Guest Contends for Mrs. Utah Crown

by Janet Thaeler on April 26, 2009

I learned about this from a YouTube video (click “continue reading” to see the videos) but our own Carol Ann Guest competed in the Mrs. Utah pageant recently.
.

Congrats to our neighbor and friend Carol Ann Guest who came in at #4 in the Mrs. Utah pageant last night. It’s a lot of work to enter a pageant and anyone who attempts it wins in my book. Check this page out. Maybe I can interview her after I interview Rebecca Bateman. Next after that is the book store down the street Three Little Monkeys.

I have a confession – I went to last year’s Mrs. Utah pageant – the only pageant I’ve ever attended. My friend Kelly was competing and she came in as second runner up. For the next week my husband and I practiced giving our platforms on various topics to each other. I’m not sure how that went over with Kelly who really wanted to win but we had fun doing it. His platform is a clean house always. He takes a stand for that and he lives it. I try to support him even when I’m sick and it’s hard. You’re laid back for 36 years and then all of a sudden my life has new standards of cleanliness. If you have any tips to share on how to care more about the house being clean or weight loss, please let me know. If you need tips on cleaning, ask him.

Speaking of pageants – I didn’t watch the Miss USA pageant but I read about it today. I’m also proud of evangelical Christian Miss California Carrie Prejean (PRAY-John) who stood up for traditional marriage. She came in second and it seems she was set up by gay blogger Perez Hilton. It had to have been rigged! Maybe every card read “Perez Hilton” so she would be sure to become a lightening rod for this issue.

I wish I’d watched the pageant in real time but but the jazz championship game was on. Who knew this would come up (besides some of the organizers)? The news is abuzz about this issue today.

Thanks Janet for this information on Carol Ann. I helped her a bit with her bio so I am happy to hear she did well.

I tried to keep this a secret! It was such a rewarding experience. Oh my word, I have never done anything where I have grown at such an amazing pace, It was a wonderful opportunity to show my beauty of expression, to have time to self-educate, to find an hour each day to center myself spiritually, and to get my physical body in the best physical shape since I was 17 years old! I met 26 amazing women, who are all making such an incredible contribution in the world. I truly felt blessed to make it as 4th, I couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of my family and the strength of my Heavenly Father. It came at a very challenging time in our lives, and was definitely a blessing to help ground me and give me bright ray of sunshine each day.
