I Want to Win a Grocerybike

by Janet Thaeler on September 14, 2009

I did some work with Clear the Air Challenge Utah and was reminded how much I used to bike much more than I do now. I’m a big fan of what I call grocery bikes. They are bicycles that can hold things, like groceries. They usually have baskets. In college when I didn’t have a car my friends and I were fond of carrying things on our bikes.Madsen Cycles Cargo Bikes

I’m entering a contest for a grocery bike from Madsen Cycles Cargo Bikes. They give away a bike every week. I think you’ll agree that it is the motherload of grocery bikes.

While I’m at it, CafeMama wrote about life without a car (it’s a PDF file). Here is the bike she hacked together for the rides.

My favorite place to go walking and biking on Sundays is the Farmington Creek Trail. It has live animals, a bridge with a stream, views of Lagoon, fruit trees and usually many families and dogs.  If I had this bike I could throw Bjorn in the back and head there instead of driving. I’d get in much better shape that way (or I’d ask Stephen to drive).
